Description

Do you know the difference between play with an objective, play as an activity and play for reinforcement during training?

Julie Blanding’s unique understanding of the way dogs enjoy interacting with their human companion has helped her become an expert at building drive, motivation, and work ethic through play.

Julie is an accomplished competitor in Ring Sports and IGP (FKA Schutzhund).  She is also a highly sought after coach for handlers and trainers of all sports as well as Police K9 trainers, Search and Rescue (SAR) trainers, Ring Sports Trainers, and companion dog owners who are looking to build drive for canine sports, activities, and obedience.

How can this presentation of Motivation and Drive through Play help you?

If you are looking for a better attitude in the ring or during training, higher drive, or simply need some new games to play with your dog, Julie is THE MASTER. Julie’s training techniques are also amazing for channeling the focus of your high drive, high energy dog toward their training.

Do you need better control during play?  If play gets to be a little too much for you, or if your dog takes the toy and leaves you, Julie has amazing techniques so both you and your canine best friend can enjoy play together more.

This seminar is for everyone who wants to learn more about motivating their dog through play, from the pet dog owner who wants to have fun in their yard, to those who are in training for IPO or Ring Sports, Police K9 Handlers and SAR handlers, and those involved in any canine sport like Agility, Flyball, Canine Freestyle, Nose Work.

  • Dogs will work one dog in the training room at a time.
  • Dogs must be people friendly.
  • Dog-reactive dogs are welcome. [Handler and dog must have skills to enter and exit the training room and pass the next dog without barking, lunging, screaming, etc.]  If you have questions, please call us.  We are here to help!
  • Crating inside the building is allowed as long as crated dogs are quiet.  Bring your own crate.  Dogs who bark, scream, etc while in the building waiting their turn will need to wait in their vehicle.

All registrations are final. NO REFUNDS.

Testimonials

I can honestly say that Julie is as amazing with the human end of the leash as she is with the canine end of the leash.  Her love for dogs and those people who own them knows no bounds.  I have been working with Julie every Friday since 2015.  She has taught me so much about play and motivation.  She has also given me the confidence to compete in dog sports.  I look forward to our weekly sessions!

“I’ve worked with Julie extensively in obedience for several years. She has a way of breaking exercises down so that canine and handler alike achieve progress very quickly. Her entire foundation of training is based on creating an eager and motivated dog that desires to work with the handler. This combined approach for training coupled with Julie’s keen eye make her one of the most talented and fun to learn from trainers in New England. She also continuously strives to learn for herself and her students. She truly is a gifted trainer and generous teacher.”
