In this workshop, we’ll work on building understanding, speed, accuracy, and reliability while troubleshooting common weave pole challenges.
Beginners
- Learn the concept of weaving using channel weaves
- Build confidence moving through the poles
- Gradually work toward straight weaves
Channel weaves allow the poles to be spread apart, making the weaving pattern easier for dogs to understand as they learn.
Intermediate
- Continue working toward straight weaves
- Improve weave entries and exits
- Build speed and confidence
- Increase consistency
Advanced
Bring your trouble spots!
We can work on issues such as:
- Popping out of the weave poles
- Difficult entries
- Inconsistent exits
- Trouble when the handler moves laterally
- Difficulty when the handler moves ahead
- Speed or reliability problems
Prerequisites
Dogs must:
- Be at least 12 months old
- Respond to their name
- Have a basic recall
- Be able to work around other dogs and people without barking or lunging
No reactive dogs.
Working Dogs will be off leash and one dog at a time will be working. Dogs waiting their turn can be crated, can be staying with their owner on leash, can be worked out of their car. The waiting area will be gated off. Dogs who bark while waiting will be asked to wait in their car.
