Description
At Pack of Paws, we generally prefer the use of a front hook harness for leash walking training, but many clients and other dog owners who aren’t yet our clients utilize the prong collar tool without instruction. Not understanding how to use this tool and using it improperly can cause harm to your dog’s personality, harm physically and can render the tool ineffective.
We feel that if dog owners are going to invest in the prong collar tool and use that tool for leash walking that owner and dog should have the opportunity to use the prong collar properly.
There are a lot of good training tools to help with Leash Walking training, and we consider the Prong Collar to be a tool for experienced handlers or a tool that one should have good coaching from an experienced trainer to use properly.
A properly used prong collar, on the right dog, can give nearly immediate leash control. We want to help make leash walking a good experience for both you and your dog.
When not used properly, a prong collar can unnecessarily hurt your dog and even adversely effect a lovely dog’s personality.
