Training Attitude

Whether you want to improve attitude during training or attitude in the ring, Michele is second to none when it comes to getting the BEST attitude! Training “Attention to Handler” can be the most challenging behavior to train! Without having a dog’s attention, it is difficult to progress in any sport. Excellent performance requires attention even when there are exciting distractions and fearful situations. How does enthusiasm support the performance attention goal? These two very desirable traits in a performance dog are closely linked! Learn how to create attention and enthusiasm even in the most distracted of dogs!

Precision Obedience for Competition

Learn how to train the most precise obedience behaviors for every day obedience up to the most reliable and most precision of behaviors. Precision obedience is important for pet dogs and performance dogs alike! Whether you compete in any obedience venue or just want the very best behaviors at home and out in public!

Problem Solving Sessions

Barking, won’t hold the dumbbell, leaves the ring, “deer in the headlights”, plays keep away from handler, “wont work in the ring”, problems with the retrieve, forging in heel, lagging in heel, you name it. Problem Solving time is devoted to each individual dog and handler team.

Collar Cue Training

“The Right Touch”! Modern dog training has all but dismissed physical contact as part of training, viewing it as applying an aversion. Learn methods of using collar contact cues resulting in powerful communication. Being able to use the leash as a communication tool to train behaviors is a great asset!

Seminar Topics for Sunday (October 7, 2018)

When Training Goes Wrong

So many people focus on how to train the dog and never prepare themselves for how to react when things go wrong. A handler’s reaction to their dog’s undesirable response has a huge effect on the dog and it’s progress. Learn how to prepare yourself for the inevitable lows in dog training and to react and respond in a way that is constructive to the dog’s development.

Distance Responses

Training behaviors with your dog close to you can be challenging enough but progressing to fluent responses from a distance is very difficult! Learn systematic steps to gain results in distance work whether your dog will be performing on “the other side of the ring” “the other side of the field” or out on an off leash hike in the woods!
