The CCPDT is the leader in the development of rigorous exams to demonstrate mastery of humane, science-based dog training practices. Thousands of dog training professionals worldwide maintain the CCPDT’s certifications as a mark of high professional distinction.
IAABC awards skill-based certifications in animal behavior consulting. To determine whether you meet the standards for Certified or Associate Certified designated, we need evidence that you have the skills you need to sucessfully manage, prevent and modify challenging behavior in your chosen species.
Certification of Behavior Adjustment Training (BAT) instructors provides dog owners with a trusted source of referrals to behaviorists and trainers using BAT to rehabilitate dog aggression and other issues. She started this program in August 2012. Certified BAT Instructors (CBATI) are trainers and behaviorists with experience using BAT with clients for aggression, fear, and bullying.
The Association of Professional Dog Trainers (APDT) is a professional organization of individual trainers who are committed to becoming better trainers through education. The APDT encourages all trainers and aspiring trainers to pursue continuing education throughout their careers. In an effort to set a standard for what it means to be a “well rounded” dog trainer, the APDT has developed a Body of Knowledge.
The Pet Professional Guild is a membership organization representing pet industry professionals who are committed to results based, science based force-free training and pet care. Pet Professional Guild Members Understand Force-Free to mean: No Shock, No Pain, No Choke, No Fear, No Physical Force, No Compulsion Based Methods are employed to train or care for a pet.

In addition, since practical experience is vital to success, the school offers a hands-on component so that learning is not just theoretical.

Doggone Safe is a non-profit organization dedicated to dog bite prevention through education and dog bite victim support. The Be a Tree program is a dog bite prevention seminar program for school-age children. This program focuses on fun and interactive activities to teach children how to read dog body language and how to act safely around both their own dog and strange dogs.
TAGteach is a teaching and communication method that combines positive reinforcement with an acoustical support. TAGteach is an application of ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis) that makes the science of positive reinforcement accessible and easy to do for owners.
